What we do
INOVA is a consultancy that offers expertise in the design and development of flexible learning and learning resources. We undertake educational design and curriculum planning using a range of print and web-based technologies. We also offer professional development through workshops, mentoring and the development of a community of practice.


What Inova Offers
  • Design and development of courses for flexible learning and teaching
  • Programme design: model course designs, coaching and feedback on organisational development processes
  • Resource development – reports, reviews, guidelines, course-books, web-based resources
  • Workshop staff development sessions on topics such as:
    ·         basic course design for teaching staff
    ·         development of content/resources for face-to-face, print, online and blended modes
    ·         online facilitation
    ·         increasing and supporting interaction
    ·         learning design for those in designer roles; instructional design
    ·         assessment
    ·         identifying professional development needs and goals
  • Coaching/training in curriculum and resource design for management and teaching staff
  • Course/programme critique for moderation, evaluation, continuous improvement

Our current roles

John: John is an academic co-ordinator at Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology, and teaches Professional Studies and Practice at the College of Education, University of Canterbury. Recently Project Manager for Nga Kiwai Kete elearning development project funded by TEC, http://www.nkk.org.nz/ , and previously Senior Lecturer and Distance Education Co-ordinator, School of Primary Teacher Education, Christchurch College of Education. John has a Masters in Education from Canterbury University, and a Diploma in Educational Management (CCE).

Lyn: Lyn is Programme Leader, Adult Education at Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology. Before moving to this role in July 2008 she was the Learning and Development Manager for Richmond New Zealand - a large NGO provider of community based healthcare. http://www.richmondnz.org/ . Formerly Lyn has worked as Educational Designer, Tertiary Accord of New Zealand (TANZ) http://www.tanz.ac.nz/ developing workplace-based elearning courses, and as Educational Designer and Senior Lecturer, Centre for Educational Design and Development, Faculty of Education, University of Auckland. 
Lyn has a Masters in Education from Deakin University (Melbourne), focusing on workplace-based training. In 2004-5 she was awarded a Flexible Learning Leader in New Zealand (FLLinNZ) scholarship to undertake professional development in the area of elearning design and evaluation

  • Ability to think through the implications of new technology and apply knowledge age approaches for organizational development.
